INGREDIENTS FOR THE RECIPE
Thinly sliced apples
Chopped walnuts or pecans
Butter ( melted & cooled )
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a large bowl, mix together the apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger.
In the same bowl, mix together the oats, nuts and butter. Sprinkle over the top of the apple mixture.
Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired. Enjoy!
If you want your apple crumble to be extra crispy, try using less sugar in the recipe. This will help the topping to brown and crisp up more in the oven.
For a richer flavor, try using brown sugar instead of white sugar in the recipe. This will give the apple crumble a deeper, molasses-like flavor that is absolutely delicious.
