What are ladoos?

Ladoos are Indian sweets, which are broadly truffles or sweet spheres filled with the goodness of ghee, sweetener, grain(s), nuts, and a tinge of cardamom. There are plenty of variations to it and a variety of ladoos available in India.

Ingredients for Alsi Ki Pinni

  • ½ Cup Whole Wheat flour
  • 1 Cup Flax-meal
  • ½ Cup Powdered Jaggery
  • ¼ cup chopped almonds mixed nuts can be used
  • ½ Cup Butter
  • 1 tbsp Raisins
  • ½ tbsp cardamom powder

Steps – How to Make Alsi Ki Pinni

Step-1 Take a pan or kadai. Add ½ cup of butter and let it melt.

Step-2 Add ½ Cup Whole Wheat flour to this and roast in a medium flame, until it gives out a nice aroma. Take care not to burn the flour.

Step-3 Now to it add 1 cup flaxmeal to this and saute for a minute.

Step-4 Time to add ¼ cup almond powdered and mix it together so that they all start to stick together.

Step-5 As the mixture starts getting dry we’ll add 2 tbsp melted butter and mix it properly. Turn down the heat and let it cool down a little but make sure to not stop mixing.

Step-6 Add ½ Cup Cardamom powder, ½ Cup Jaggery Powder, and 1 tbsp raisins now will very neatly mix them all together.

Step-7 Let it cool a little, Start making lemon-sized balls out of the mixture, by pressing it tightly in your palms. If needed, decorate each ball with a nuts on top
