What is a keto-friendly diet?

A keto diet is a low-carb, high-fat diet that aims to put the body into a state of ketosis, in which it burns fat for energy instead of carbohydrates. In a keto diet, the goal is to shift your body’s metabolism from burning carbohydrates as the primary source of energy to burning fat instead. This metabolic shift is achieved by drastically reducing your carbohydrate intake and increasing your intake of healthy fats.

Keto-friendly foods include meat, fish, eggs, low-carb vegetables, healthy fats like avocado and olive oil, nuts and seeds, and some dairy products.

Benefits of lentils (dal)

Lentils are a type of legume that is rich in nutrients and can provide several health benefits. Here are some of the benefits of lentils:

  • High in protein: Lentils are an excellent source of plant-based protein, which makes them a great option for vegetarians and vegans.
  • Good for digestion: Lentils are high in fiber, which can help promote regular bowel movements and prevent constipation. The fiber in lentils can also help reduce cholesterol levels in the blood.
  • Low glycemic index: Lentils have a low glycemic index, which means they are digested and absorbed slowly, leading to a more gradual and steady release of glucose into the bloodstream. This can help keep blood sugar levels stable and may be beneficial for people with diabetes.
  • Rich in nutrients: Lentils are a good source of several essential nutrients, including iron, folate, potassium, and magnesium. They also contain antioxidants and other beneficial plant compounds.
  • Weight management: The high fiber and protein content in lentils can help increase feelings of fullness and satisfaction, which may lead to a lower overall calorie intake and weight loss.

Overall, adding lentils to your diet can be a nutritious and delicious way to boost your health and well-being.
