What is Pesto?

Pesto is a type of sauce that is originated in Italy. Quick and versatile, pesto can be used in a variety of recipes like my sausage & garlic pesto flatbread, pesto shrimp, or mixed with cooked pasta, roasted vegetables, spread on sandwiches, taco, artisan bread, and more.

What is Basil?

Basil is not just a herb but is also great in treating health problems. The parts of the plant that grow above the ground are used for medicine. Helps in curing stomach spasms, loss of appetite, intestinal gas, kidney conditions, fluid retention, head colds, warts, and worm infections.

Fresh Basil Pesto

All together Homemade Fresh Basil Pesto is a sauce, dip, or spread used in/with various food items. Basil pesto comes together in a matter of minutes, all you need is proper ingredients and a food processor.

This homemade Fresh basil pesto is made up of all the fresh and healthy ingredients available at home. Filled with a handful of fresh basil and flavourful ingredients like cloves, chilies, cheddar, salt, parmesan, whipping creme, and olive oil make it even more delicious.

We have planted basil in our garden and every year the plants do so well that we don’t fall short of basil the entire season. What to do with it? Basil Pesto of course! Here is a simple and heart-melting quick recipe for you all.

This Basil Pesto is my favorite as it is simple, flavorful, and most important it is completely fresh, healthy, and tastes much much better than the one bought from the stores.

Once made in a good quantity can be easily stored in a refrigerator for about a week or even more if kept in an airtight container.

Served with snacks, salads, pasta, garlic bread, roasted potatoes, etc…

  • Basil fresh
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 green chilies
  • 1 cup cheddar sharp
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup whipping creme
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup cashews
  • 1/4 cup Almonds


  • Making
    -Take a bowl.
    -Add fresh basil into it.
    -To it add cloves and green chilies.
    -Now put everything into the food processor.
    -Add cheddar, salt, parmesan, whipping creme, and olive oil to it.
    -Blend everything together.
    -Add cashews and almonds and blend it again.
    -Fresh basil pesto is ready.
