Down below I have shown you stepwise instructions of how to make delicious Kashmiri style Kadam:

Taking washed kadam for making Kashmiri style Kadam(Kohlrabi).
Take kohlrabi wash it properly.
Cutting out the top part.
Cut the top part of every kohlrabi as it is soft into two halves from the center.
Peeling of the hard skin gently.
Now it’s time to nicely pell off the rest of the skin of every piece making sure that all the hard shell is gone.
Cutting them into pieces.
Cut them into pieces or in any shape you prefer.
Frying our chopped kadam nicely until they turn reddish brown.
It’s time to fry our sliced kohlrabi(Kadam). This looks done now as we see that the kohlrabi has started to get reddish-brown

It’s time to take them out that’s how they look.
Adding spices into oil.
Now, will add oil, Asafoetida(heeng), cloves, Kashmiri Mirch, Cumin seeds, and mix them all together.
Adding leaves and soft chopped parts.
To it, we will add top soft chopped parts of kohlrabi with leaves mix them together with the ingredients.
Let's roast them for a while.
Now we’ll let it roast for some time.
Adding spices, fried Kadam.
We’ll be adding crushed black cardamom and cloves to it. Also, we will add salt, Kashmiri red chili powder, and fried kohlrabi.
Adding ginger powder and fennel powder to it.
Now add ginger powder and fennel powder to it.
Adding water to our veggies for that perfect gravy for that Kashmiri style Kadam(Kohlrabi).
Time to add our water cover and let it cook.

  • Oil
  • Asafoetida(Heeng)

  • Ginger powder
  • Fennel powder

Instructions
 

  • Preparation
    -Take few kohlrabi(Kadam).
    -Wash it and cut the top part slice it into two and keep it aside.
    -Then take the rest of Kadam and peel of the skin nicely.
    -Cut it nicely into pieces.
  • Cooking
    -It's time to fry them.
    -Take a pan.
    -Add oil to it.
    -To it add diced Kadam(Kohlrabi) and let it fry nicely.
    -As it starts to turn reddish-brown take them out.
    -Take another pan and some oil in it.
    -To it add Asafoetida(Heeng), Cloves, Kashmiri Mirch, and Cumin seeds.
    -To it add leaves of Kohlrabi(Kadam).
    -Give it a mix.
    -To it add crushed Cardamom, cloves, Salt, Kashmiri red chili powder, and fried Kadam.
    -Mix all the ingredients nicely.
    -To it add ginger powder, Fennel powder and mix it properly.
    -Add some water to it.
    -Let's cover it and cook it for a while.
    -Open the lid.
    -Kashmiri style Kadam(kohlrabi) is ready.
