– 5-6 cups of thinly sliced apples (about 2-3 pounds)

– 3/4 cup of brown sugar

– 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

– 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg

– 1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger

– 1 cup of old-fashioned oats

– 1/2 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

– 1/2 cup of butter, melted and cooled

Instructions for Baking Apple Crumble: 

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. 

2. In a large bowl, mix together the apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. 

3. Pour the apple mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish. 

4. In the same bowl, mix together the oats, nuts and butter. Sprinkle over the top of the apple mixture. 

5. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired. Enjoy!
