What is Dahi Aloo

Dahi Aloo is an easy-to-prepare delicious recipe of potatoes simmered in curd sauce. I serve this recipe as both a side dish as well as a main dish with chapatis, rotis, or steamed rice. It’s such a simple curry recipe. There’s almost no prep work except boiling the potatoes. I would compare this recipe to be similar to kadhi as they taste near about the same but the only difference is there is no besan in it.

This heavenly delicious recipe is a simple, quick, and easy-to-make dish. Aloo is one of the most popular vegetables that people opt for when fasting, as it’s easy to cook and can help in keeping your tummy full for some time.

About this recipe

This is a warm and heavenly delicious recipe that is enjoyed on Navratri days and on normal days as well. The best part about this recipe is its simplicity with only a few ingredients in it but still, it tastes soo amazing. people add onion, and tomatoes to their Dahi aloo. My recipe has no onion, no garlic, and no tomatoes. I hardly take a few minutes to make this tasty dish with the boiled aloo and spices for my family.

While it hardly takes a few minutes to cook this dahi based recipe, I would like to share a few tips for the perfect recipe do not forget to continuously stir the curry after adding curd to prevent lumps. in addition, cook the curd-based curry on a low to medium flame till it boils.

Can You Make These Dahi Aloo for Fasting/Navratri?

Absolutely! This recipe is perfect for Navratri/fasting season. Just skip turmeric and coriander powder if you don’t use it during fasting. You can add cumin powder in place. And of course, use sendha namak (rock salt) in place of regular salt and you are good to go.

This is my version of making this yummy recipe hope you all enjoy making and having it.

Enjoy.
