- Soak your Chole in hot water for almost 2 hours if you did not soak them overnight.
- Add some tea leaves or dried amla (gooseberry) while boiling the white chana to get the dark color.
- Use anardana, lemon juice, tamarind, or dry mango powder to enhance the flavors.
- Replace ghee with oil to make the Chole recipe Gluten-Free.
- Knead the dough properly for about 6-8 minutes, and make sure it is soft and sticks to your fingers while kneading.
- Always use some hot oil instead of dry flour to roll the bhatura.
- The edges of your bhatura must be thicker than the center and those of a poori.
- Gently slide the bhatura from the side instead of dopping it into the Kadai.
- If you don’t have enough time to ferment the dough, add ENO fruit salt to the dough mixture.

The flavorful, extremely satisfying, and spicy Chole Bhature is literally the best combination you can have at any time of the day- breakfast, lunch, or dinner. A classic Chole Bhature plate has sliced onion, mango or green chili pickle, and lemon. Pickles enhance the flavor and add spiciness to the chole, whereas lemon juice brings a tangy taste. Some people even like aloo ki sabzi or a full plate of salad with their Chole Bhature, including onions, cucumber, tomato, and radish. Just serve hot bhatura straight from the Kadai with the tempting chole.
